"I just know, that our behavior on how we use electricity also contribute to climate change. Apparently, if you let the TV or other electrical devices in standby, we all pay at least 10 percent of the monthly electricity bill. After training, she also thought about things that can be implemented in work environment and family.
"Maybe the things that is very simple, but has a large contribution to reducing the impact of climate change," she said.
Yosi who served in Learning Center Department’s of HSBC has prepared the simple programs. What’s that? Replace plastic cups with a glass cups!
"Plastic is the most difficult matter to recycle. I see, after participants drinks from plastic glass, then they squeeze it, and immediately discarded. Very waste, right? Better a large initial capital, replace with glass first, but the benefits is big," she said.

"How to support HSBC as green financial company. In Hong Kong, there are green credit cards made from recycled materials. I think, this can also be applied in Indonesia," said Fermana.
In the case of operations, she presented a number of policies that have been applied in the office, for example using alternating paper for printing, turn off the lights up to 50 percent at the office starting at 18:00 in energy-saving efforts and turn out the lights at noon rest.
Not only that, Fermana and three other climate ambassadors also undertakes a recycling project from goods or obsolete office equipment. "For example, flyers which are generally distributed to consumers, it’s residual can be woven into new items such as pen box, a bag of toothpaste tubes and others. We are also visit schools in the corporate environment to socialize about climate change," she said.
Ambassador climate from HRD Department, Nilam Kencana Ayu, also make an effort to reduce private vehicle use by co-workers. According to Ayu, fossil fuels which contribute to driving the vehicle increase greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, she suggest co-workers whose homes were near from the office or have same direction, to go together.
"Besides saving fuel, reducing pollution," she said.
In the future, she also hoped, the company can apply online system as a whole for a bank transaction, as has been practiced in Hong Kong. Online system, she said, would save the use of paper produced from tree trunks.
"There’s still time to prevent the worst impacts of climate change. If only, there is joint action that starts from now," said Ayu. And we, anyone, can do it!
